Myrrh oil has a warm earthy scent that promotes feelings of balance and well-being. Well-known from The Bible as a treasured gift of the wise men, myrrh has long been associated with spirituality, strength and robust resiliency. It is often diffused during times of meditation and prayer.
When used topically, myrrh oil can engender relief by improving circulation to the area. Many people have tried it for toothaches, weakened gums and loose teeth.
As with other oils, it should be diluted with a neutral oil before topical application. Use a concentration of less than 2 percent (eg., 15 drops per tablespoon of massage oil).
NOTE: Essential oils may be used aromatically or topically in a variety of ways including diffusers, massages, compresses, baths, scrubs, lotions and sprays. Essential oils should be diluted with a massage oil or carrier oil before applying topically.
