Thyme Oil
Essential Oil of Thyme
Thyme's penetrating warm aroma is often used to ease fatigue, both mental and physical. It both revives and stimulates.
Thyme oil is credited by aroma therapists with the ability to cultivate courage. It is associated with the thymus gland in the chest. "Thumping the thymus", as in beating the chest with the fists like a gorilla, is known to raise strength and improve immunity.
As with other essential oils, thyme oil should be diluted with a neutral oil before topical application. Use a concentration of less than 2 percent (eg., 15 drops per tablespoon of massage oil).
NOTE: Essential oils may be used aromatically or topically in a variety of ways including diffusers, massages, compresses, baths, scrubs, lotions and sprays. Essential oils should be diluted with a massage oil or carrier oil before applying topically.
